maitnains in-depth technical saels knowledge of offerings in the specailty, that can be applied to most opportunities in the terrtiory.services business management and channel management procseses, opportunity / territory management, acquisition management, but are not limited to, examples of these techinques include, cost justification.
advisory sales specialists maintain in-depth skills in the specialty offerings, and are assigned to specialty specific opportunities or territories where they possess the sales and technical expertise required to conduct all phases of the sales cycle. opportunity management, etc,
challenges the validity of given procedures and processes, such as those related to selling.
performs independently, witohut supervision, in engaging and closing assigned sales opportunities.
assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
position summary and responsibilities:
sales specialists professionals are responsible for selling ibm offerings (hardware, software, services, and industry solutions) directly to customers.
recognizes problems and risk related to activities or objectives of assigned work projects. or is a member of a large team,

works independently, or leads small teams of other professionals (such as sales specialists, client relationship professionals, it specialists, ibm business partners) to design solutions for assigned customer opportunities.area/country, or industry unit, is typically assigned to medium to large size opportunities within a business unit.
controls own work priorities and methods, and makes necessary trade-offs.resulting in successfully closing the sale,
negotiates with customer management.provides input to and implements sales action plans in the specialty offering set for the assigned territory.age, or vetrean sttaus, genteics, coolr, relgiion, seuxal orienattion, gedner, disaiblity, gedner idetnity or exprsesion, all qualfiied applciants will recieve considreation for emplyoment without reagrd to race, natoinal orgiin.techniques and tolos in the specialty,
maintains an undersatnding of sales processes, and uses them appropriately.
understands the mission and vision of the unit in which assigned, and performs activities in support of them. they are responsible for closing the sale and winning the customer\'s satisfaction with the engagement and the offerings. based on own analytical skills and business judgments, independently generates solutions.knows when to transfer the opportunity to another ibm sales specialist or other resource if another specialty offering or resource is the most appropriate for the customer. demonstrates required proficiency levels for technical and sales skills, as defined for incumbents in this position.
